Menopause


Definite end of both menstruation and reproductive capability, due to a ceased ovaric activity.

Average age; 50 years old
Precocious menopause: before 45 years old
Late menopause: after 55 years old


Climacteric


Period of transition between a reproductive one and a non- reproductive one (due to a ceased ovaric activity)


Peri-Menopause


It clashes with the climacteric; both pre.menopause and post-menopause period.


Pre- Menopause


Phase preceding menopause, whose features ofter are menstrual irregularities expressing the early ovaric activity deficit.


Post-Menopause


Phase following the menopause, it concludes the climacteric.
