MENOPAUSA
Cessazione definitiva delle mestruazioni e della capacità riproduttiva,
per esaurimento dell’ attività ovarica.

Eta media: 50 anni,
Menopausa Precoce: prima dei 45 anni,
Menopausa Tardiva: dopo i 55 anni.

CLIMATERIO
Fase di transizione tra il periodo della capacità riproduttiva e il periodo dell’ incapacità riproduttiva
(per esaurimento dell’ attività ovarica).

PERI - MENOPAUSA
Insieme di PREMENOPAUSA e di POSTMENOPAUSA (coincide con il climaterio).

PRE - MENOPAUSA
Fase che precede la menopausa, caratterizzata da irregolarità mestruali,
espressione dell’ iniziale deficit di attività ovarica.

POST - MENOPAUSA
Fase che segue la menopausa,
e conclude il climaterio.
